ESPN.com - Colts team president Bill Polian said Wednesday on SiriusXM NFL Radio that head coach Jim Caldwell isn't responsible for the clubs' struggles, and that injuries to key players like Peyton Manning, Melvin Bullitt and Gary Brackett are to blame

I know a lot of people have been calling for Caldwell to be fired, but I had a feeling he wouldn't be. Peyton Manning will be the reason his job will be saved along with a lot of other injuries. A lot can happen from now to the end of the season, maybe they will change their mind and let him go but I doubt it.

I don't think Caldwell should be fired. He really has nothing to work with, that organization is a mess without Peyton.

I completely agree and I'm rather certain he'll still be the Colts Head Coach next year anyways.

It's not like the Colts are getting blown out anyway. Sure we beat them by 55, and the Texans put it on them pretty good, but besides that they've been playing teams pretty tough. They took Pittsburgh and Tampa down to the wire.

They have been in a lot of games as you said, they've been competitive for the most part, except for last Sunday night. Lol

Haven't the Colts been one of the best teams in the past decade?

Because of the QB..

I laugh at yall because Yall laughed at me when I said Peyton makes everyone around him better.. Even the defense because he keeps em out of the game with the long ass drives.

Should be called the Indy Mannings.

When it came to Manning's availability this year, they knew for a while he would miss time. Polian had the time to make the necessary changes to the team, and didn't.

Peyton Manning for the past 10 MVPs.

Not only does he help the defense by having long drives, but the defense is constantly playginw with a lead, meaning they don't really have to try and defend the run much. Their linemen are used to just pinning their ears back and charging the QB, now they have to worry about the RBs.
