New York Daily News - Plaxico Burress will be released from prison in approximately five months, but his return to the Giants remains a longshot.

The wide receiver's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, again made it clear last week that Burress has an NFL future.

Giants general manager Jerry Reese again was asked about the possibility of signing him and refused to rule it out.

The New York Daily News reports that Giants officials, off the record, are much more leery of Burress than Reese’s public stance would indicate.

Ofcourse almost everybody is going to refuse to say that they won't be interested.

I think how well Vick played after getting out of Jail will help Plax though.

Can't believe this dude is still in jail for that dumb ass shit.

Vick was in there for the same amount of time and what he did was way worse.

Well, Vick should have gotten more time but he didn't because he's Michael Vick. Think the court system gives 2 fucks about Plaxico?

I hope he comes back because dudes like this come back into the league and the play amazing. Just look at Michael Vick, he came back and now he is better than ever. I think the same can happen with Plax and he knows the offense very well so it wont be that hard for him to come back.

It could be a longshot right now, but when it's all said and done, he'll be playing somewhere.

No need to have him back on the Giants, the Giants have a solid core of young receivers in Nicks, Smith, and Manningham. He'll find work on another team though.

Comparisons to Vick are so off-base. Vick has always had the potential to be this good, he just needed a wake-up call for him to work hard to finally reach that untapped potential he had as a legit duel-threat passer.

Plaxico is already a fairly hard-working guy IIRC and going to prison isn't going to change that like it did for Vick.
