"Jerry Jones may be turning to an ex-Giant for a little help in the Cowboys' planned a-- kicking of Big Blue.
Plaxico Burress' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has had preliminary discussions with Dallas about signing the veteran wide receiver, ESPNDallas.com reported Thursday.
Stephen Jones, Dallas' CEO and director of player personnel, didn't deny the team's interest in Burress — who will turn 35 Sunday — telling Texas sports-talk radio station KTBB that the team "wouldn't totally rule out Placixo at some point."
"America's Team" is thin at wide receiver; Miles Austin is out with a hamstring injury and a number of unproven players are battling for the No. 3 receiver job.
The team is reportedly looking to add a veteran wideout if none of the players in camp distinguish themselves.
Burress made his return to the NFL last year with the Jets following a 21-month jail sentence in connection with an accidental shooting at a midtown nightclub in 2008.
He had 45 catches for 612 yards and eight touchdowns in 2011."
