Unless the Pistons can pull off a trade involving Ronald Dupree by Monday night - which at this point, seems unlikely - Detroit will waive the 6-foot-7 forward in order to get their roster down to the NBA-maximum of 15 players. The Pistons may also look to waive rookie Sammy Mejia, but that seems unlikely at this point.

Billups said neither player had shown signs of worry or concern about their future.

"You would never know they were fighting for their life right now," Billups said. "They're just regular, playing as hard as everyone else hoping for the best."

wasn't this the same person they were trying to trade Denver for JR Smith?

LOL - now Denver can pick him up without giving up Smith

Well we all saw this coming, but I hope Super Dup will be able to find a new team, he wasn't totally bad when he got PT.

No they were trying to get Ronald Murray, but Detroit wanted to put Dupree in the trade.

The Pistons got down to the 15-man roster limit at Monday’s deadline by waiving rookie Sammy Mejia, something of a surprise since they signed him to a partially guaranteed contract after his performance in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Mejia, a 2007 second-round draft choice out of DePaul, lost out in his battle for the final roster spot with veteran Ronald Dupree.

I really liked Mejia :(.

Oh well, we are down to a 14 man roster now, possibly a better chance for Webber to return.

Well Dumars has already said that he doesn't want more than 4 big men on the team.

Possibly a better chance for Webber to return.

Well Mejia can go to Europe and play get better then come back and we may sign him.

And sorry Rip you and I barley disagree but the Pistons should not sign Webber again.
And we prolly won't.

I think they should sign him again....or Boston, or Chicago, or Phoenix....but thats because I'm a huge Webber fan.

I only want Cwebb back if he comes off the bench and I mean less minutes than Jmaxx & Amir.

Why he's a ton better than Amir. He can pass better than both by far, and has a better mid-range J.

I know but I want them to develop and that will be just another set back.
Plus I love Tay and when Webber came Tay's numbers went down... A lot.

I don't think that was because of Webber.....also Webber could teach them a lot.

Even Detroit's announcers Greg Kelser and George Blaha said Tay's numbers decreased due to Webber.

Webber could help them but they aren't the type of players Webber is.
He's a mid range shooter and passer.

Jmaxx is like a dunk on you type of player.
AJ25 maybe could be a little like Webber but he also is way more athletic and should develop into a Highlight type player....

BUT Webber would help us.
