National Football Post - The Eagles still have cornerback Asante Samuel on their roster, but that doesn't mean trade talks aren't underway.

There has been speculation that Philadelphia could deal Samuel following their acquisitions of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

"It's what I told him initially and what I've told you, he's on our football team," coach Andy Reid said Saturday.

"That's what he is. As you know, in this league people are always talking. That's what (general manager) Howie Roseman gets paid to do and every other GM is paid to do. He knows that he's on this football team, and that's the way it is.

"You can ask me a question about any other player, and that's how it works. People are always calling, asking, and all that, it's part of this game. But he's on the team."

"He's on this team"...for now.
Don't play us for fools Andy. We know teams don't call for everyone, and we know he's most likely on the block.

For Eagle fans, it would be a lot more assuring if he said they won't trade him. But he can't say that.

I'm hoping the Eagles will keep him, but I'm not sure if they will. Question is if they were to deal Samuel, what team would give them the best deal?

Yahoo! Sports - The Eagles have said that they are comfortable keeping all three of their top cornerbacks on the roster.

However, that doesn't mean general manager Howie Roseman hasn't shopped Asante Samuel or listened to offers for the veteran.

Philadelphia is asking for two second-round draft picks in return for Samuel, according to a source.

The Eagles acquired Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in the Kevin Kolb trade with the Cardinals and also signed top free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
