The Kings will not match the four-year, $44 million offer sheet that Tyreke Evans has agreed to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans. According to sources close to the situation, the new Kings management group instead is hoping to close Thursday on a sign-and-trade agreement involving Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez and backup center Robin Lopez.
No deals can be finalized until July 10.

Because Evans, the 2009-10 Rookie of the Year, is a restricted free agent, the Kings have the right to match any offer he receives in the open market. However, team officials reportedly believe the offer is excessive and would damage the team's long-term salary cap flexibility. They pulled their four-year, $52 million offer to free agent Andre Iguodala Tuesday when the Denver Nuggets swingman refused to make a firm commitment.

2k Pelicans. Going to be fun.

Also like it for the Kings. All the minutes for McLemore.

The Kings are making good moves.

I'm currently waiting for Harold Camping's next rapture prediction. I might believe it at this point.

And another good part about this? If we cut some guys that aren't going to make the team anyway we would still have 6-8M in cap room to use.

Dell is a magician. We could use that to fill the skills we need, shooters and rebounders.

Why did they give up assets for a guy they could have signed outright?

I don't think they could've because they didn't waive Lopez.

They couldn't sign him outright. This is basically what was going to happen all along but it is being billed as a "three team deal" for some reason.

Our roster (not depth chart) right now:

PG: Jrue Holiday, Austin Rivers, Brian Roberts, Pierre Jackson
SG: Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans
SF: Darius Miller
PF: Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, Lance Thomas
C: Jason Smith, Jeff Withey

Looks like we need to use our remaining cap on a SF and possibly a C.

I love him off the bench. Dell comes from the San Antonio tree, just like Sam Presti. San Antonio had Manu off the bench and OKC had Harden. Manu averaged just 28-31 minutes a game off the bench during his prime, and Harden would take just 12 shots a game in OKC. But you can't tell me their impact on the game wasn't massive. Tyreke may not start games, but you know what? Who cares. It's not about who starts games, it's about who finishes them. And he'll not only finish games, but he will change them as well. That is what matters. Not who starts games.

He just had his most efficient season of his career, and with the way he attacks the rim, he'll get to sub in midway through the first quarter or something when either the opponents first unit is tired, or the second unit is on the floor, that's going to be such a mismatch in our favor.

And I don't think his role will be off the bench for his entire career, but Ryan Anderson will probably be coming off the bench again. Has one team ever had two top 5 sixth man of the year candidates?

As for the injury thing, Gordon is healthy right now, so that is a plus. The last year and a half strengthening his knees have been the priority.

He owes a lot to the league offices for doing half of his job for him.
