The NBA trade deadline is around a month away, but the Pelicans arent ready to move Ryan Anderson.
We still have just over a month left until the NBA trade deadline, but already there are rumblings about potential trades that could get made. So far there have been major rumblings but nothing official has gone down but weve come close.
According to Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops, the Pelicans rejected a trade with the Kings that would have sent Rudy Gay to New Orleans and Ryan Anderson to Sacramento.
While that sounds like a decent trade, New Orleans is wise to turn this deal down at the present time. Anderson has been made available by the Pels, but there is no indication in New Orleans that the team is hankering to trade him. Proof positive of this is being seen in the rejection of a deal that would have netted Rudy Gay as a return for Anderson.
This probably isnt the last weve heard of either Anderson or Gay in trade rumors before the deadline. We already knew that the Pels were putting out feelers for possible interest in Anderson and rightfully so. Hes still considered a Kevin Love-lite, which isnt the most glowing endorsement but is a solid comparison and interesting sales pitch. The real interesting thing in this is that Rudy Gay seems to now be available in Sacramento, and the Kings will probably or might already be taking calls from interested parties.
