Parsons may need Microfracture surgery

Chandler Parsons may need to undergo microfracture surgery on his right knee. There remains a possibility that the cartilage damage could be repaired with arthroscopic surgery.

Parsons would miss the beginning of next season if he undergoes microfracture surgery.

Parsons, who the Dallas Mavericks Mavs signed to a three-year, $46 million contract as a restricted free agent last season, missed the final six games of the regular season due to soreness and swelling in his right knee.

That's a bad bad deal. How far has this team fallen? There's rumblings that Ellis is unhappy, Parsons really isn't that big of a deal anymore, and Dirk is starting to look old. They could really be in for a long season next year.

Parsons was really good for Dallas this season aside from scoring, but he was the third option behind a scoring guard who really doesn't facilitate and a PF who needs his shots to be effective. Considering those two things 15 PPG was just fine.

But if he needs microfracture, he's in trouble.

This is why you don't take risks with knees. He was fucking dumb to try to partake on a series his team couldn't win.

This team had so much promise and now it looks very old and injured. The Mavericks dont have much depth either and you cant call for a rebuild with Dirk in his few remaining years.

Parsons has surgery to repair the cartilage, and as they used that term and not "regenerate," I assume he avoided Microfracture.
