Roto.Panthers extended restricted free agent tenders to DeAngelo Williams and DE Charles Johnson.
Whether the tenders mean anything will be determined by the new CBA, and we'd bet heavily against them being binding. Williams is a five-year veteran, while Johnson has four accrued seasons. The tenders will only restrict the players' free agency if the next agreement goes against the NFL's tradition of restricting only three-year players. Four- and five-year vets should all be unrestricted. It's complicated and boring, we know. The bottom line is that these tenders are much more bark than bite.
Looks like if anybody wants them, they might have to give up a pick.
