Mike Conley Sr., agent for Greg Oden, says his client is interested in signing a free-agent deal with the Miami Heat.

Conley said that Oden may be ready to return to the court in December or January "as far as being effective and in shape."

Oden has appeared in just 82 career games since being selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft.

If they sign him for cheap and he somehow miraculously can put together 25 minutes a night and stay healthy for a season, he would make this team infinitely better.

Well he isn't playing in 12-13, so they'd have to wait till 13-14 for him.

His agent recently said playing in 12-13 isn't out of the picture.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're interested in him too. Get him for cheap, low risk high reward.

If Oden stays healthy, I think he can be a top caliber Center in the league.

I severely doubt that. His athleticism has to be drained and he was never a polished offensive player.

This is a low risk no reward type of signing. I like it for the Heat.

If he comes back and is healthy and doesn't pull an Eddy Curry pre-heat, I think he will be.

sadly the potential for him to be a top caliber player is not going to happen anymore. if he comes back healthy the best i think he can be is a solid 5/7/20mpg player.

With what athleticism? He might still have the timing but his game was based off being big and athletic. The athletic part is more than likely gone.

Detroit or Phoenix would be good fits. Both great medical staffs. I think Kander could really help his career out. As well as whomeber Phoenix has.
