The Denver Post Reports that the Nuggets and center Nene Hilario will likely lock down a three-year contract extension this summer.

This is far from certain, but it makes sense. The paper previously reported that Nene will opt out of the final year of his contract despite being ticketed for $12 million, and we think it's the right move. He's going to command huge money coming off of a career season, and there is a mutual interest between he and the team to remain together for the long-term.

Well, this is two conflicting stories. One says that he wants to opt out and see what other teams have interest in him, but this one says that both sides are trying hard to get something done for the long-term. More than likely he's saying he'll lock out and see what other interest there is to try to get Denver to hurry a top offer.

Thoughts?

I hope he opts out...would be cool to see him on another squad. He can bring a lot to a team. It would suck big time for Denver though.
