@TSNBobMcKenzie:

As per @Real_ESPNLeBrun, NSH trades Michael Latta and Martin Erat to WSH for Filip Forsberg.

I'm happy Forsberg is not in the East anymore. Can't believe they gave up Forsberg for Erat.

I think everyone was too quick to overreact over the trade. Yes, Forsberg is there top prospect but Erat is a quality player and Latta is no scrub prospect either. Plus, Pierre LeBrun wrote an article saying that some people think Forsberg wasn't as good as they thought he'd be. I'm sure Washington thought so as well and sold high.

There's still time and it may very well be the case that Washington regrets the deal, but, right now, they shouldn't.

True, it could be sold high. I'd love to see this in a year or 2 and see who got the better hand.

From what I have heard, Latta is very close to NHL ready and definitely has potential.

Remember that Forsberg was originally projected to go 5/6/7 in this past year's draft, and slipped.. Maybe Washington sees something we don't.
