The Mavericks showed signs of life Monday, then grew anemic after the first quarter, and the defense was uneven throughout the 115-93 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

It was the second blowout loss in a row at home for the Mavericks, who fell 105-94 to the Miami Heat on Sunday. In that game, Dallas trailed by as many as 35 points.

"We look old, slow and out of shape," Dirk Nowitzki said. "I still think this team has a lot of potential. We just need to work. … We probably needed extra weeks of training camp. But we don't have it so the young teams, the athletic teams, look better right now than we do."

if the younger teams have a big advantage now, its gonna get ugly later on when guys start getting banged up and fatigued when they gotta play 5 games in 7 days, or w/e.

They got a 7-day stretch at the start of January where they play Timberwolves, Thunder, Suns, Spurs, Hornets. Big test for them.

the thunder, wolves and hornets can run all over them in that stretch too.

The lack of an inside presence like Tyson is obviously a huge issue as well.

I'm guessing the Mavs will make a move before long...

because I doubt they want to be in the lottery.

i still cant believe they won the title to be honest

this surprises no one considering they have 8 guys over 32

they are strictly a jump shooting team right now.
JJB was huge for them in the playoffs getting into the lane. they miss him
and of course Tyson since Brendan Haywood is a stiff

I'm not surprised they won it all. But i'm not surprised they are struggling right now
