The contract of Frank Vogel with the Indiana Pacers expires at the end of this season and there's been no discussion of an extension.

Vogel became interim head coach of the Pacers in 2011, replacing Jim O'Brien.

Vogel led the Pacers to consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearances in 2013 and 2014.

Vogel signed a multi-year extension with the Pacers in 2014.

There could be a number of teams interested in Vogel if he hits the open market.

This would be a costly mistake if Indiana let Vogel get away.

Vogel needs to be in Indiana as long as Bird is there, for the simple reason that Vogel means bird in German.
