I'm actually relieved to hear this. Figured it would be season ending.

that's what the team hopes. im sure it's more like 6-8 with chances of 4-5.

Well either way, he should be back in time for the playoffs. If we make it of course lol.

If you're Tom Lewand, the guy in the front office who handles management of team salary and not talent evaluation, I wonder how this event makes you feel? They didn't pick up Fairley's team option for next season and put him into an unrestricted situation because they felt he was lazy and they wanted him to earn it.

So Fairley was earning it, he played like a top 10 DT in the NFL for 8 games. The team was at huge risk of losing both him and Suh via monumental contracts from other teams. Fairley just lost millions of dollars in open market value with this injury.

I wonder if the Lions will be cutthroat and move from a plan where they would let Suh walk and extend a large contract to Fairley, to a plan where they will now beat any offer for Suh and let Fairley loose to the wolves.

And there can never be a post with mention of Lewand without his mugshot, so here's his mugshot.

Certainly in a tricky situation with those two. But there is nooooooooo way they can let them both walk.

Probably in the minority, but I really hope Suh is a Lion next year and beyond.

Well they really could have. They could have drafted Aaron Donald instead of a 3rd string TE. Then they could be in a position to have a whole lot of money freed up to supplement OLB, CB, S, G or RB. Now they are held hostage by stars at the least important position on the field.

not in the minority. everyone wants suh to remain a lion. it just won't happen. too much money involved.

Glad to hear he wasn't seriously injured. He's much more likable than Suh, for obvious reasons. I'm hoping he continues to play well once he returns.

They are now saying this report isn't true and that they don't know if he will be back this season.
