After one abbreviated season with the Memphis Grizzlies, has former Lake Howell and Gators guard Nick Calathes gotten all he wants of the NBA? EuroHoops.net reports that Calathes, who took a pay cut to come back home from Russia, has asked to be released by the Grizzlies to consider lucrative offers from European teams again.
But, Calathes suspension for a failed drug test complicates potential talks with other teams. Calathes was suspended for 20 games on the eve of this years NBA playoffs for the use of Tamoxifen, a drug that is one of 140 substances banned in the NBA performance-enhancing drug policy. It is not a PED but is classified as a masking agent for other banned substances.
