New logo? Lions aren't saying

ALLEN PARK -- Lions president Tom Lewand politely declined to address speculation the team could alter its uniform or logo as early as next season. It's a subject that came up at last month's "town hall" meeting Lions officials held with season-ticket holders.

"I would only say that we're looking at all parts of the organization to see where we can improve," Lewand said Tuesday. "And if and when there's an opportunity to have any announcements on those kinds of things, we'll do so at the appropriate time."

The Lions have announced they'll scrap their alternate black jerseys in favor of the team's throwback jerseys beginning next season. Teams are allowed to wear the alternate jerseys twice a season.

I like the idea of a new logo, maybe they should go back to the 50's style logo with some new gen spunk.

I also liked the black alts, but the throwbacks are nice too.

I also like the logo for the team, it is classic. But it would be cool to switch. New era, new logo. Fresh start.

But i like the idea of changing, as a symbol of turning a new leaf or w/e you want to call it. I'm more of a keep it original kinda guy when it comes to uni's and logo's but hey,maybe they can go back to something similar to the past.

Hate to see them scrap the black alternates, those were boss, but hey, if they start winning games, they could wear tutus for all I care. lol.

They didn't really change anything before. They merely added black outlines to their logo and numbers and added a black alt. More of a tweak than a change.

yeah the black jerseys were nice and the rule was always only twice a year for alts.

I agree I really liked those black alternates, they never really gave them a chance.
