The Nets announced that the MRI taken on Devin Harris Tuesday confirmed that he has a sprained left shoulder, but also that he has a strained (with a T) deltoid muscle.

But here's what you want to know: They also say there is no timetable for his return.

You can assume that's another way of saying they'll reevaluate it next week, and that he's a scratch until further notice.

Look out below.

The deltoid is that triangular slab of muscle that gives the shoulder its rounded shape. The problem here, of course, is that the Nets aren't in the habit of telling you what degree the strain might be, but you can familiarize yourself with the grades right here.

Meanwhile, Sean Williams appeared Tuesday in a Colorado courtroom, where he pleaded not guilty to two charges, and was told to return for another hearing in May.

You can assume his lawyer will try to cut a deal and get the felony charged pled down to a misdemeanor. But we still say Sean's got more to worry about from Rod Thorn than he does the Colorado penal system.

All-star guard hampered by sprained left shoulder, strained deltoid muscle
The New Jersey Nets' pursuit of a playoff spot probably will be a little tougher for at least the next week without leading scorer Devin Harris on the court.

A sprained left shoulder and strained deltoid muscle will sideline the all-star guard indefinitely, but an MRI on Tuesday showed no broken bones.

Harris is undergoing treatment and will be out a minimum of one week and possibly longer.

He was injured in a fall Sunday in Los Angeles after being fouled by the Clippers' Marcus Camby on a layup attempt. He missed Monday night's game in Denver.

Harris is averaging a team-high 22.6 points, 7.0 assists and 1.8 steals a game.

The Nets have lost four straight games and watched their record fall to 28-39. They entered play Tuesday two games behind Milwaukee and Chicago for the eighth and final playoff berth in the NBA's Eastern Conference.

Looks like we didn't miss a beat after beating down NYK by nearly 30 last night.
