The Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Bobcats are discussing a trade that would swap Kris Humphries and Ben Gordon, according to league sources.

Trade talks are ongoing but nothing is imminent.

Both Gordon and Humphries make $12 million this season.

The Nets are searching for a shooter to space the floor and believe Gordon -- who's averaging 13.1 points on 41.7 percent three-point shooting this season -- would fill a void.

Oh, for some reason I thought he signed a 1 year deal. In which this would've been a great deal for the Bobcats. But now I really don't understand it lol.

Howard Beck @HowardBeckNYT
Of note: I'm told Charlotte proposed the deal. So it would appear it's up to the Nets to decide whether to pull the trigger.

Gordon has been a bum since coming to Charlotte, all he does is jack up shots and turn the ball over.

Nets haven't been watching him too close if they're willing to trade for him.. Unless his contract is expiring then I don't understand this trade for them, the Bobcats have no bigmen willing to bang and rebound since Mully would rather play the wing

yea I don't really understand this at all, either. I keep getting this sense that they love Marshon Brooks, but adding Gordon is only going to take away Brooks' minutes. It actually makes more sense for Charlotte, like you said they need the rebounding.

Unless they want to play a smaller team like what the knicks are doing? play Deron, Gordon & Johnson together? idk but I don't think the Nets will do it.

We just need a shooter... bad

The Nets attempt the 7th most 3's in the NBA & rank 20th in 3pt%.

With a lot of NBA teams going smaller these days I wouldn't be surprised if we had BG in the starting lineup.

eh, i guess it does make sense. Plus they gotta try and keep up with teams like the Knicks that can hit 3s as well.

I don't think this trade would help the Nets all that much to be honest.

Ben Gordon may be jacking up shots but he's shooting over 40% from 3 while putting in 13 points in 22 minutes, that can help any team

It's a whole lot easier to be good on a bad team then be good on a average or above average team. Gordon wouldn't come close to having that sort of impact on the Nets. And if you are giving up a ton of points then it's a moot point. Of all the guys I've researched this season, Gordon is the only one I remember giving up 1.05 points per or more. Saying that's awful is being generous.

40% doesnt mean he hits them when they need them.
