Patriots CB Alfonzo Dennard has been convicted of third-degree felony assault on a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
During a fight outside a Nebraska bar last April, Dennard pushed and then punched an intervening police officer in the jaw. The incident sent his draft stock plummeting, allowing the Patriots to scoop him up in the seventh round. The felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. Sentencing has been scheduled for April 11 and Dennard can expect a suspension from the NFL as well.
