http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/23887/20111003/nelson_packers_reach_three_year_$1335m_deal/John Clayton/ESPN.com - The Packers and wide receiver Jordy Nelson agreed to a three-year, $13.35 million contract extension over the weekend, according to a source.
The deal includes $5 million in guarantees and incentives could make it worth $15 million over three years, according to the source.
In four games, Nelson has 15 catches and a 19.2 yards-per-catch average.
Nelson has really impressed me this season, especially with his big play ability. He's not gifted with exceptional speed or athleticism, but the way he and Rodgers work together is impressive. He's a great route-runner, and has exceptional hands as well. Great signing, and a fairly cheap deal for the player you're locking up. Good move by the Packers.
Thoughts?
