Since when/why is boy offensive? The NBA has decided that no action will be taken against either Vince Carter or referee Derrick Stafford following their heated confrontation on Wednesday.
However, the two will be required to talk in the near future to clear up any misunderstandings.
During the second quarter of the Nets' 83-75 road loss to the Pistons, Stafford whistled Carter for a pair of technical fouls and referred to him as "boy" - a term considered offensive to African-Americans.
Stafford, like Carter, is African-American.
I know it can belittle someone, but why is the term "boy" offensive to a whole race?
