6. What is your best offensive lineup?

7. What is your best defensive lineup?
1. Holiday, Gordon, Aminu, Davis, Stiemsma
I thnk this lineup sets a nice defensive tone early, with two guys who can stop ball penetration, amazing length and athleticism at the forward positions, and a center that can block shots at the rim. This lineup will probably have to have a faster pace then Monty normally likes to play with because of a lack of spacing, or rely heavily on the pick and roll with Jrue, Gordon, and Davis.

2. Holiday, Gordon, Aminu, Davis, Smith
This lineup possesses just as much defensive ability, if not more with Smith replacing Stiemsma. It has much improved spacing with Smith being one of the best long range shooting bigs in the league, shooting 50% from 16 ft and beyond last season, and 47% the season before. Monty however prefers to bring Smith off the bench, which I think has something to do with the hustle he plays with.

3. Holiday, Gordon, Tyreke, Anderson, Davis
This lineup gives the Pelicans an abudance of weapons. You have three points shooters to stretch the floor in Holiday, Gordon, and Anderson. Plus Davis with a good midrange jumper. You have a guard and two wings who all have the ability to play on the ball, push the break, find the other four men on the court with them, get into the lane, and finish at the rim. The ball should constantly be moving with this lineup and should be a matchup nightmare. All five guys can also finish at the line, shooting 75%, 84%, 77%, 75%, and 84% last season. This unit could struggle on the defensive glass though.

4. Holiday, Evans, Morrow, Anderson, Smith
I'm going to exclude the lineup I mentioned above, and any lineup with Anthony Davis. I think Jrue Holiday in the pick and roll with that much space would be terrific, Tyreke Evans on the other side in isolation or in the post, Morrow and Anderson the teams two best three point shooters, and then Jason Smith doing a little bit of everything, popping, rolling, crashing the boards. The problem with that lineup is that you can't really run it whenever you wanted because it would struggle defensively and be horrible on the defensive boards against some other lineups teams would put out there.

5. Roberts, Evans, Morrow, Anderson, Smith
I don't think you'll see this lineup at all, but I'm not Monty Williams so who knows. The Hornets fielded perhaps some of the worst perimeter defenders I've ever seen last season with guys like Greivis Vasquez, Roger Mason, Brian Roberts, and a young Austin Rivers. This lineup could give that a run for it's money. Brian Roberts is a bad defender, Morrow is a bad defender, Anderson is a below average defender. Evans may be a little above average, but he can get lost on rotations. This lineup also doesn't have any rebounding.

6. Holiday, Gordon, Evans, Anderson, Davis
See above

7. Holiday, Gordon, Aminu, Davis, Smith
I fully expect to see some of this lineup just because of how great it could be defensively, and Monty is a defense first coach. You have two near elite on ball defenders on the wing in Gordon and Aminu, an elite point defender in Jrue Holiday, and two very good big defenders in Davis and Smith. Once again, this lineup could struggle to rebound, which will be a problem all year long.

What do you guys think Dion could do this season? I picked him up in fantasy and I'm wondering if he's going to be something valuable.

A multitude of things could happen with him, it's hard to predict. Plays up to his potential and becomes a very good scorer, gets traded mid-season to a bad team trying to rebuild, plays less than expected because of defensive issues, has a year similar to last season.

My gut says 17 ppg on 44% from the field.

I wouldn't be disappointed with 17. I'm just worried about his chances of scoring, but I figure he has to be a top scoring option as long as Bynum's out.

Like cheato said, I don't think anyone really knows what he'll do mostly because nobody knows how much he'll play.

I think if he plays 32 minutes a game, he'll be around 16 ppg on 42% shooting.  15 ppg on 30 mpg, 17 ppg at 34 mpg, etc.

1. Lin, Harden, Parsons, Smith, Howard
-McHale is loyal to players who are somewhat consistent, so he'll give Smith the start, even if Jones outplays him, at first. He'll also start Lin because of the potential Lin/Howard chemistry
2. Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Jones, Howard
-Because Jeremy Lin is inconsistent and horrible defensively, McHale will eventually start Beverly, who I think has earned the gig. Terrance Jones will show progress early and take Smith's starting job from him.
3. Beverly, Harden, Garcia, Parsons, Howard
-McHale will have shooters galore out there around the perimeter, but combine it with the tenacious defense of Beverly and Howard. Parsons and Garcia are damn good defenders as well, so it's up the Harden to not suck on that end of the floor, in this lineup.
4. Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Motiejunas, Howard
-Patrick Beverly is one of my favorite Rocket role players, and his tenacity inspires the other four on the floor. Because he's not inept, offensively, he'll have this lineup firing on all cylinders. Though I've never been impressed with Motiejunas as a complete player, Howard or Asik can control the boards and the paint with him running around the perimeter, and he's the best offensive 4/5 that Houston has.
5. Lin, Harden, Garcia, Jones, Motiejunas
-DMo is still questionable, defensively. Jones and Garcia can't do it all for this lineup.
6. Lin, Harden, Garcia, Parsons, Motiejunas
-Want to build a lead? Can't stop this group.
7. Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Asik, Howard--versus lineups without a 4 that can hit the long ball.
-I'm really intrigued by this lineup.
7b. Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Smith/Jones, Howard--versus lineups with a 4 that can hit the long ball.
-I prefer Jones to Smith tenfold, but what can you do?
