Nuggets guard Nate Robinson diagnosed with sprained ACL
Denver reserve set to be evaluated again Friday to determine treatment plan
Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson has been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors after an MRI Thursday revealed a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Robinson, averaging 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games this season, will be evaluated again Friday to determine a course of treatment.
"When they’ve gathered as much information as they can gather, we’ll go from there," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "It’s probably safe to say he’ll miss some time."
Robinson was injured midway through the first quarter of Denver’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday. He was making his first start of the season in place of injured point guard Ty Lawson.
"The way he’s built, I know he’s going to come back this year," Denver guard Randy Foye said of Robinson. "He’s extremely confident and an extremely strong person, and I just know he’s going to come back and help us."
Lawson, the team’s leader in scoring and assists, is recovering from a strained left rotator cuff. He is listed as a game-time decision against the Raptors.
