MVP:
Lebron James
Stats: 26.6 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 6.6 APG, 2.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG
Reason: Kobe has the deepest team in the NBA, KG has Pierce and Ray Allen, Lebron's supporting cast? Mo Williams and Wally Szerbiack. Plus, 2nd in points, 10th in assists, 8th in steals.
Runner-up: Dwight Howard (Magic 15-5, Dwight first in blocks and rebounds while scoring 21 PPG)
Name to look out for: Chris Bosh - If Raptors start winning, his stats are right there.
ROTY:
Derrick Rose
Stats: 18.7 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 5.9 APG, 1.1 SPG
Reason: OJ might be a focal point for Grizz, but all around Rose is leading the Bulls, living up to the hype. This race should tighten as the year goes on though to.
Runner Up: OJ Mayo (1st among rookies in scoring, over 21 PPG, 1.3 SPG, 4.5 RPG, 2.3 APG)
Name to look out for: ZOMG! Greg Oden
MIP:
Devin Harris
Stats: 24.2 PPG, 6.0 APG, 3.5 RPG, 1.2 SPG (14.8 PPG, 5.8 APG, 1.4 SPG last year)
Reason: As a Maverick fan trust me this is hard, but he's averaging 10 more PPG then last year, and is leading the Nets who weren't supposed to do anything till they moved to Brooklyn. But Devin Harris, simply put, is owning.
Runner-Up: Andris Biedrins (15 PPG, 12 RPG, ASG for the Latvian?)
Name to look out for: John Salmons - Kings are terrible, Salmons has been one of the lone bright spots, and the Kings aren't going anywhere, if anything his stats will go up.
DPOTY:
Dwight Howard
Stats: 21.5 PPG, 14.5 RPG (9.6 DRPG), 4.1 BPG
Reason: No explanation needed really
Runner-up: Dwayne Wade (2.4 SPG, 1.7 BPG, he doesn't only score)
Name to look out for: How bout the defensive legend Marcus Camby?
6th Man:
Jason Terry
Stats: 20.3 PPG, 1.6 SPG, 3.9 APG, 2.4
Reason: No bias here. 20 PPG off the bench? 1.6 steals off the bench? Has probably been the Mavericks best player actually.
Runner-up: Nate Robinson (Giving the Knicks about 14 PPG, and 1.6 SPG, being like the Knicks version of Leandro Barbosa for D'Antoni)
Name to look out for: Manu Ginobli - He's Baaack
COTY:
Lawrence Frank
Team's Record: 10-8
Reason: Honestly, with the Nets roster at the beginning of the Season, who thought they would be sitting ahead of Philly, and have already proven they can beat and play with Western powers.
Runner-up: Mike Brown (Call them the Lebrons if you want, but they are a force to be reckoned with. 16-3. Everyone knew they would be good, but this good?
Name to look out for: Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers. If either team gets to Bulls '96 record
Comeback Player:
Nene
Reason: From 12 PPG, to having a scare of cancer, and coming back and struggling, to now leading the NBA in FG%, and is averaging 15 PPG and 7 RPG for the Nuggets
My NBA All-First Team:
Center: Dwight Howard
Power Forward: Chris Bosh
Small Forward: Lebron James
Shooting Guard: Dwayne Wade
Point Guard: Chris Paul
