MLB Network's Intentional Talk just made a couple of suggestions.
Millar's proposed rule change -- If a player hits a homer more than 475 feet, give the team 2 runs for it.
Rose's proposed rule change -- Give a team an option of "calling a shot" by allowing the team to get an additional run if they get a homer from a designated player in a particular at bat.
Thoughts?

No lol

Sounds cool to think about, but measuring distance in regards to HR is an inexact science to begin with. No need to have more Adam Dunn type players in the league than there already are

If you "call a shot" and the guy gets anything other than a HR is it an out? Otherwise that's just dumb, I'd call a HR every time my slugger came up to bat

Here is another thought -- in September, let the teams call up all of the players they can, but force them to declare 25 players as "active" every day. No more having 20 pitchers in a game.

This definitely makes sense. I actually really like this. As long as they can change the active players each day and not count as call ups/downs, and it shouldn't count against service time either if they sit out. That could be tricky though but I like the idea a lot.

September call-ups don't count as service time. Only time on the 25-man roster does.
