Lets talk about this. Whats up with everyone so big on not enough blacks play baseball? What about not enough white people in basketball? What about not enough hispanics in football? What about not enough blacks in hockey? Baseball always gets singled out and I dont know why. I think baseball in part is too expensive for inner city kids to play and that is what has lead to declining numbers. I also believe that basketball and football are a lot more appealing and desirable. The road to making it is shorter as opposed to baseball as well. Overall I think there is a lot of diversity and this is being overblown.

Yeah. You got white, black, latin, asian and other people playing it.

Because baseball doesn't get enough attention and its said to be a "white man's sport", so that throws black youth away from it. You can play pick up baseball games anywhere and get in leagues ANYWHERE. I know Atlanta has baseball leagues that are very easy to get in to but not many do it because they're off playing basketball and football. Its more of a preference type of thing and influenced by societal stereotypes usually.

I just hate how on all these shows they make it seem like its a serious issue, leave our damn sport alone. Its perfectly fine the way it is, if blacks whites or latinos dont want to play it, its their choice. All ethnicities are well represented in baseball, a lot better than the other professional sports except for soccer.

Hockey is the sport where they see a black guy and go "wtf?"
not baseball.
