Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was set to be arraigned Monday on a charge of possessing marijuana in Michigan, according to MLive.com.

Police told the Detroit Free Press that Leshoure, who was riding in a car that was stopped March 12, tried to consume the marijuana to avoid being charged.

The arrest will at least warrant Leshoure a spot in the NFL's drug program. The 96.1 report notes also that this is Leshoure's "second offense" in two months, meaning he's likely headed for an NFL suspension.

A few hours ago, MDS brought you the news that Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was going to be arraigned on a marijuana possession charge on Monday.

That’s what everyone expected to happen, but Leshoure failed to show up for the arraignment. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press reports that the Lions have been in contact with the police and Leshoure is now expected to be arraigned on Wednesday. Leshoure may face contempt of court charges, according to Julie Mack of MLive.com.
