Michael Vick (broken right hand) will miss 3-4 weeks, according to Howard Eskin of NBC 10 in Philadelphia.

Eskin serves as the Eagles' local sideline reporter and is also regarded as a mouthpiece for the team. If his report is accurate, the 1-2 Eagles may be forced to hold Vick out through their Week 7 bye. That would mean three weeks of either Vince Young or Mike Kafka. For now, we'd consider Young the front-runner for the job after Kafka faceplanted in relief duty during yesterday's loss to the Giants.

What a loss for the Eagles. Now they have to either turn to Vince Young or Mike Kafka to be that starter unless they do want to trade or sign another QB. I guess possibilities would be David Garrard and possibly Matt Flynn from Green Bay. They'll definitely have to make a decision soon, because Vick is out for 3-4 weeks, no ifs, ands, or buts this time around.

Thoughts?

Hahahaha.... AAAAAHAHAHAHA!

Love it. I'm sure Kafka didn't help his cause by throwing two interceptions late in the game yesterday.

And I doubt they trade for a backup qb from another team just for 3-4 weeks replacement. It'll be Kafka or Vince Young

Ive always liked Mike Vick, but he really shouldnt have played yesterday anyway, Eagles should have known better to throw him in after last weeks concussion against our blitz happy defense.. and all the talk about last years DeSean Jackson play

But this is great news for us being that their conference rivals, hopefully Dallas gets the W against Washington tonight and ties it up at the top of the NFC.

Hoepfully he's able to make a full recovery though, Id liek to see it last longer then 4 weeks though lol

Exactly why I picked the Giants to win the division. Vick wasn't going to stay healthy. I doubt this is even the last injury he has this season.

But regardless of what you all think about him, they still have VY...

And he wins games, so Im hoping whatever injury he has keeps him sidelined for a while...

Love to see Kaftka get the job even though he played ok against the Falcons

Vick could actually avoid a lot of hits if he learns to throw the ball away.

I don't know how many times that last game I was yelling throw it away! throw it away! Sack.

I hope he can come back soon, and I think he will be back before 3-4 weeks.

Vick: Referees Refuse To Protect Me

NFL.com - After suffering a broken right hand against the Giants on Sunday, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick vented about what he believes is unfair treatment by officials.

"That's pretty much been the story for the last three weeks," Vick said. "At some point, something catastrophic is going to happen, and I broke my hand."

Vick was injured during the third quarter when he was hit by Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty following a 23-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin.

"I felt I got hit late. No flag," Vick said.

Vick says he doesn't receives the same treatment as other NFL quarterbacks.

"I think more precautions should be taken when I'm inside the pocket," Vick said. "You look at all the replays, I'm on the ground every time. It's unfortunate for myself, it's unfortunate for my team, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't frustrated right now because of that."

Vick said he's doing all he can to stay on the field and wondered if he needs to do something else to achieve that goal.

"I am conscious of my safety, and I want to play this game and protect myself at all times even though sometimes I can't," he said. "I trust in my offensive lineman ... I guess I got to do more. There's something I'm not doing right maybe. I just got to keep pressing."

I really don't think the Eagles lose a step, but only if Vince Young can play.
If I were an Eagles fan, I'm scared if Kafka starts. Young however, I'd be confident.

That's tough for the Eagles, but that's the reason they signed Vince Young. A just in case, and if he can play, i'd see him doing well for them. He needs to mature a little more, but he can get them wins. Doesn't have to be fantastic. Just adequate enough, until Vick comes back. Who knows, maybe Kafka will become a surprise. Losing Vick is a blow, but not a death blow to them.

I told you guys he didnt deserve that contract and people just laughed at me. He isnt worth all that money, he has never been healthy for a full year.

This is very bad news for the Eagles, because Vick makes that team roll. Confidence in the locker room and just his overall play helps that team tremendously. So much for the Eagles running away with the division and making the Super Bowl.....

This is the NFC East kids..... No team is far and above superior to any other team in the division. We beat each other up every week. Gonna be a good year.

hahaha.

Coming from the dick who got picked off and tried to make a tackle, resulting in him almost not getting up.

He needs to shut the fuck up and blame nobody but himself. If he didn't run around in the pocket for 15 seconds trying to get the throw off he wouldn't have gotten knocked out of the game. ANd quite frankly I'm sick of all the over-protection of QBs. The play he's referring to, he got hit like, a fraction of a second after he threw it. Nothing illegal about that and if it is illegal, well, it shouldn't be.

This. If there's one thing VY has shown in this league (character issues aside) it's he can win games. With the weapons the Eagles have I think he'll do fine as a starter till Vick comes back.

PHILADELPHIA -- Michael Vick's injured right hand is bruised, not broken as originally thought.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said a CT scan Monday showed the star quarterback bruised his hand in Philadelphia's 29-16 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Reid said X-rays taken during the game showed Vick may have a fracture.

"Today, he had a scan and it showed there was no break," Reid said. "It was a blood vessel sitting above the bone. That happens at times with X-rays. The blood vessel makes it look like it was a fracture. There is still a bunch of swelling. It is sensitive to the touch. The positive is there is not a fracture there."

It's uncertain if Vick, who throws left-handed, will play when the Eagles (1-2) host the San Francisco 49ers (2-1) next Sunday.

"We will see how he does over the next couple of days," Reid said. "We have to get the swelling where it is manageable and he feels comfortable."

Vick was injured on a hit from Chris Canty after completing a 23-yard pass to Jeremy Maclin in the third quarter. He finished off the series and led the Eagles to a go-ahead field goal.

Vick left for X-rays, but returned without missing a play. He then left the game for good after another series.

The hit from Canty didn't sit well with Vick. He blasted officials for not calling a roughing-the-passer penalty, and said he wants to be treated like other quarterbacks.

"His best interest is always in my mind, when he's on the football field, in particular," Reid said. "I know he's a marked man. I think it's important that we all keep a close eye on him."

I'd still just sit him for a game. Let him get to as close as 100% as possible.
I mean, you signed Vince Young for a reason.

I picked the Eagles to win the division, I am no longer picking them to win it. Right now, the Redskins look the best and the Cowboys and Giants aren't too far behind. The Giants are just decimated by injuries, it will be hard for them to pull it off.

From ESPN's First Take:

Michael Vick has gotten more 15 yard penalty flags than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers combined
Fuck him.

According to a report on rotoworld he's likely to start Week 4.

Well, he doesn't have a broken hand like many originally thought, so it's very possible he could start, but for this week, I don't think he will. He might though, can't rule it out.
