Miami's Beasley fined by NBA
New York, NY (Sports Network) - Michael Beasley, the second overall selection of the 2008 NBA Draft, was fined $50,000 by the league on Thursday for his involvement in an incident at the league's Rookie Transition Program earlier this month, and for initial failure to cooperate with a league investigation of the matter.
Beasley was involved in the same incident for which Miami's Mario Chalmers and Memphis' Darrell Arthur were previously fined.
The forward left Kansas State for the draft after only one season in which he became just the third freshman in NCAA history to lead the nation in rebounding with his 12.4 boards per game.
Beasley also finished third in the country in scoring with 26.2 points per game, having only one game in which he failed to score in double figures.
Beasley was the Heat's highest draft choice in franchise history as Miami finished an NBA-worst 15-67 last season.
Omg, heat rookies wtf? first Chalmers now you????
