Press Release -
The Miami Heat announced today that they have requested waivers on guard Smush Parker. Parker, who was signed as a free agent by the Heat on July 27, 2007, appeared in nine games for Miami this season, averaging 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 20.3 minutes per game.

The Heat roster currently stands at 14 players.

all i can say is its about time this move happend he was nothing but a over payed team cancer he had the the chance to be a good player but never lived up to his full potential i was just thinkng today about when the heat will do this move all i have to say is its about time and since im a fan of his i hope anoter team picks him up .

Wow, I totally forgot he was on the Heat, he hasn't played at all hardly this season. Hopefully he will be able to get back and play soon.

basically the same reaons GG was cut -- to allow him to catch on somewhere to get more PT.. still suprised on Gerald, since he's from Houston and cheap.. but oh well

I read somewhere that Green could sign with Houston again after the season is over.

Thank the Lord! He was holding this team back and wasting money and filling a roster spot. Now that he is gone we can sign someone young to showcase some things while we tank the rest of the season. Hopefully that player is Gerald Green :D
