Even if he's not playing for the Heat, Jermaine O'Neal could greatly help the club next season.

O'Neal's contract will expire at the end of the 2009-10 season, and it could be used as a trade chip.

He exercised the option on his contract, which is worth $23 million, for next season on Tuesday.

Michael Wallace of the Miami Herald mentioned that the Heat could attempt to use O'Neal in a deal for a big man like Amare Stoudemire.

Then the Suns would Have Nash and Jermaine expiring, is Shaq an expiring too? Damn that'd be a ton of cash, talk about leading the race for 2010 lol

The Suns better not do this.
They'd have the Shaqtice, Nash, and Jermaine expiring, as well as Kobe and Lebron entering Free Agency.

Amare already said he plans to sign with New York so why would the Suns not deal him?

He never said he planned to sign in ny. He said he would consider it and look into it. He also said the wiz are a number 1 jersey away from competing. Amare just wants out.

it all depends on who they can pick up in the offseason

if they can get some one better then they'll do it but if not

they would keep him
