Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum has been named the NBA's Most Improved Player for 2015-16, winning the vote in a landslide.

McCollum received 101 of a possible 130 first-place votes. No other player garnered more than seven. Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker finished runner-up, followed by Milwaukee Bucks guard/forward/freak Giannis Antetokounmpo and Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry.

Wasn't CJ getting huge minutes for them in the playoffs? They had traded for Afflalo (obviously that didn't work well)

They traded Barton in the Afflalo deal but I don't remember the timeline of when Wes got hurt

half of this forum didn't even vote for him as the best PG in the league at the beginning of the year, and there were a lot of people in general who did not consider him to be a top 5 player, or even the best PG. Now he's CLEARLY the best player in the league. I'd call that a big jump.

A much more difficult jump than the guy going from not getting minutes to being a solid starter.

Not to mention he passed a guy who had been the best player in the league for about a decade.

He won MVP, then improved his numbers significantly with roughly the same playing time.  I'd say he deserves a vote or two.
