Following the 2011 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green to the Thunder in exchange for Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins, according to sources.

Oklahoma City was not interested in the offer.

The two teams completed a trade in February where Perkins and Nate Robinson were shipped to the Thunder in exchange for Green and Nenad Krstic. Perkins subsequently signed an extension with Oklahoma City.

two years ago it was reported that the pistons turned down a stuckey/tayshaun/pick for rondo/ray trade offer(idk if true). now we see that they want CP3, and this. lol. maybe boston doesnt like rondo? haha

Is it just me or should the Celtics be more concerned with keeping Rondo and getting rid of their oldies?

They're trying to maximize his value, because it will go down significantly once he is asked to score mone.

exactly

Once the Big 3 are gone, Rondo is supposedly the #1 option. He cant put up 20+ consistently.
While re-doing the trade from last year is stupid, especially because Perks new deal is god awful, but doing Rondo for Russy makes sense for both teams.

Westbrook would be the go-to guy in Boston, would be fine. And Rondo can dish it out to KD, Harden, Serge. Makes sense for Boston and OKC.

I wouldn't do it if I was OKC. They would be trading two starters for one and a sixth man. Jeff Green had no place with OKC after the emergence of Ibaka.

Not to mention that Russy is nearly as good as Rondo and is two years younger.

Rondo is their PG of the future...Pierce and Garnett and Allen...are not in the future...they will get other pieces around Rondo eventually.

The Pacers have emerged as a suitor for Rajon Rondo, according to sources.

Officials from the Pacers have been making calls to gather insight into Rondo's reputation over the past few days.

While Indiana and the Celtics have talked about the preliminary framework of a deal, two sources say a third team would be needed to consummate the deal.

Boston is likely attempting to acquire enough pieces to eventually land Chris Paul.
