Tyson Chandler and Alex Ajinca have been dealt by the Bobcats to Dallas for the non-guaranteed contract of Erick Dampier, Matt Carroll and Eduardo Najera, according to a source.

Chandler believed he would be traded to the Raptors on Monday, but owner Michael Jordan backed out of the trade.

wow - if they can keep Haywood, too - that frontcourt becomes nice for Dallas for the first time in a LONG time

I think this is a good trade for the Mavericks, a gamble but if Tyson can return to his form back when he was with the Hornets they can do some damage.

Chandler I think is a real good pick up for them...not to mention Ian Mahinmi...I think he could be pretty good.

This is much better then Damp/Diop. I'm rather disappointed that we didn't get Jefferson, but this is a good deal.

I'm actually glad we didn't get Jefferson. I couldn't picture Dirk and Jefferson playing with each other well. This deal is good financially for us too. Could be a part of another big deal...

If Tyson manages to get back to NO form, the Mavs will be a scary team.

I don't really get this deal for Charlotte. Is it just supposed to be a salary dump? Either way, I hate MJ as a GM. I didn't know "when in doubt, pull out" applied to basketball.

They shouldn't have gotten rid of Emeka although I think he had more years on his contract than Tyson. They make trades like that one and the Dudley/Morrison one and then give Tyrus Thomas a big deal and they'll probably end up trading him before the end of his contract.

I never looked at MJ as a good gm, but that may depend on when he had full control...

I definitely like Chandler for the Mavs though.

Tyson won't return to his form with the Hornets. He has a degenerative foot condition, which led to his departure from New Orleans, and most likely from Charlotte.
