But that doesn't mean they should hire him...

Jackson, it seems, contributed to a wildly dysfunctional culture in the Bay.

Late in the season, he fired an assistant coach in front of the team, only to be told that it was too extreme. Jackson settled for demoting him to the D-League.

Shortly after, the Warriors did fire another coach who was secretly recording Jackson and other coaches. Although the assistants crime is inexcusable, it apparently was spurred by paranoia that Jackson was working against him.

Jackson also reportedly had rifts with ownership and the front office.

But his players at least most of them and definitely the most influential of them supported him. Jackson built a connection with Stephen Curry, the Warriors budding superstar, and that filtered down.

And the Warriors hadnt won so much nor made back-to-back postseasons since the early 1990s. Jackson surely had something to do with that.

He preached defense from the moment he arrived, and the Warriors became elite on that end. The franchise hadnt been as good defensively since it had Wilt Chamberlain.

Jackson wasnt perfect as a strategist, though. His firing cant simply be chalked up to clashing with ownership and management.

The Warriors offense regressed under his watch. His hockey-style substitutions led to too many minutes of overmatched lineups. A lot of smart people believe his assistant coaches carried him.

I have doubts about Jackson. Big doubts. Huge doubts. Enormous doubts.

But I cant get over the success he had in Golden State.

with the right staff around him, id love to have him. he can grow with our core and hopefully build that same bind he had. just doubt he swings this way, which sucks.

Stumbled across this article a couple days ago.

I'd hire him without a doubt if he was willing to come. Established a culture in Golden State. Need that here.

Are we just supposed to ignore the improper use of "to" in the title? This is an outrage!!

I'll keep it just to bother you guys lol

Seriously though, I'm not sure if Mark Jackson is the right guy for Detroit. Not really a big Jackson fan to be honest. He's uncreative, plays bad lineups, from what I've heard he kind of takes it easy on his players.

How is that bad grammar? (I'm awful at grammar)

Is it because it's missing a preposition?

Which would be grammatically correct.
Anyways I was shocked Jackson got fired like he did. Its hard to say who would be a good fit for Detroit. Jackson had a good deal of success with the Warriors but the Warriors are also just a better team so I'm not sure. Signing Jackson probably wouldn't be detrimental to the Pistons but he also doesn't seem like the guy who can fix the issues Detroit has
