I didn't believe for a moment that he was coming back to the Yankees, and now it's good to see him go to Seattle. That's a team with some nice pieces, not a great team, but they can be competitive at times. The only problem is that it's a 10 year deal, those deals can end up hurting a team, on the back-end years.

You had a nice career, Cano lol

Love how Seattle bid against itself tho. The Yankees were very public that they didn't want to go over $200

Good for the Mariners though, seriously. Everyone is going to make fun of them for over paying, and make fun of Cano for going there, but this could change the culture. You have the money, why not? Just picked up a top 10 or top 5 hitter in the league

A new TV deal worth a couple billion + one of the lowest payrolls in the league + a team in desperate need of offense = good signing.

Bad contract, but good signing.

They have like no protection for him, though.

Kyle Seager isn't hitting cleanup. Its gonna be Smoak, their 3rd best hitter now, and he hits .250 lol.

Gotta start some where. Their rotation could be deadly with Felix, Walker, Iwakuma, Paxton,

They're pretty average everywhere except 2B, SS, 3B. I honestly don't think it's gonna help much. Yes, they do have young arms coming up but I think they're 2 more years from actually competing.

I'm assuming they aren't done yet. You don't make a 240 million dollar commitment and then sit on your hands the rest of the winter.

I assume he'd take 22. Thats what he wore in NYY before Clemens came back and told him to take 24.

this is why I hate Yankee fans. not necessarily the team, just the fans. I got a friend, well he's sort of a friend -- he irritates the hell out of me but we still hang out, idk why sometimes. Anyway, his emotions change more drastically than a woman. It's quite remarkable.

Two days ago: "I agree, to a point, with the best Yankees writer out there. Signing Ellsbury makes signing Cano even more important now. And Cano should be insulted by the combination of the Yankees hard line stance with him and the Ellsbury deal."

Today: "HAVE FUN ENDORSING STARBUCKS AND RAIN COATS IN SEATTLE, MOTHERFUCKER! I hope you enjoy losing 85-90 games a year for the rest of your career! I can't wait to boo your traitor ass when you come back, and best believe I'd be burning your fucking jersey if I had one. Public enemy #1 in the Bronx now. And you can go fuck yourself too, Jay-Z. Pieces of shit."

Ahhh, I think I need to have a beer so I can enjoy this moment.

Wow, even taking a shot at Jay-Z. Sounds like that's just his odd way of expressing his anger about losing Cano. Since his mood changes so often, not long from now he'll probably be say how much he wishes they still had Cano.
