Although he says he's not ready to announce his retirement, Stephon Marbury told the New York Post yesterday that he has "shut everything down" and will take the season off to work on his businesses. He claims he will return to the NBA next season. Marbury also took another shot at the Knicks and coach Mike D'Antoni and says LeBron James isn't coming to New York.

"I'm just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks: why would I give you my money to watch them?" Marbury said. "This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this? If they shoot like that in the game, imagine how they shoot in practice. New Yorkers deserve better decisions form the front office and New York City has to deal with this mess. ... LeBron isn't coming to a rebuilding team. Why would he come to a rebuilding team? It makes no sense. Is this franchise built to win a championship or to make money?"

Marbury said he plans to attend the Knicks' home opener October 31 vs. the 76ers with his kids.

I don't know. I actually agree with Marbury. James really wants to win, and that's been the question if he actually does go to NY, they can't win with Lebron alone. What kind of team will they have if they do sign Lebron?

He has somewhat of a point. LeBron does want to win and it does seem like the knicks players shoot from wherever.

^Definetly agree with you and Whisper there. They also need to get little pieces to the puzzle if they want to attract LeBron to the Big Apple. Marbury will probably get booed if he comes to a Knick game, though lol.

Won't the Knicks have a bunch of CAP that season? So, maybe they'd talk to him first about what other supporting cast to bring in. Just playing a bit of devils advocate

Wasnt Marbury pratically kicked off the Knicks, I dont know how this would be a surprise from a guy who only cares about himself.

i agree, why would he leave the cavs who has a better chance to win the championship then to the knicks who can't even make it to the playoffs? I think baggio is right somewhat im sure they will ask him who he would want on the team....any one think james and wade be on the same team next year?

Stephon Marbury is right.
The reason why D'Anotoni really won games is cause of three pointers.
If they Suns were off they would lose the game.
And it carried over.

I cannot stand watching Knick games because everyone there think they're shooters.
It's attrocious to watch.
The organization is finally coming along but it's horrid.
Darko Milicic is probably they're best defender on that roster too.
Sort of sad if you ask me.
