Peyton Manning has more to think about these days than antitrust litigation and a new contract. He has to get healthy fast.

Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star reports that Manning will not be ready to fully participate in training camp when it opens because of neck surgery done earlier this offseason.

“A source familiar with Manning’s health situation said Tuesday that Manning will not be able to participate at the outset, and at this point, there’s no way of knowing how much time he might miss. It could be a week. It could be a couple of weeks. Or even most, or all, of training camp,” Kravitz writes.

This could be a problem for the Colts, I heard yesterday that Manning hasn't been able to put in the work he does during this offseason because of his surgeries. Even at the Passing Academy he couldn't throw the ball.

It's not good news for us. The thing that sucks about the lock-out big time for the Colts was that Manning couldn't be in touch with our therapists or team doctors that he severely trusts for opinions.

So apparently he has nerve damage in his throwing arm and could miss the entire preseason/training camp. Something about nerves not firing in Peyton's shoulder/arm following his neck surgery. Darren Woodson said the same thing (except in his leg) led to his retirement. Damn.

Hopefully he is okay for the seasons start. Colt fans would be pissed not to have him. He is probably their biggest piece of success

Colt Fans would then turn into Pat Fans.. most are bandwagon fans.

Didn't he miss TC's all year, last year, or two years ago, and he was fine?

Yeah, same shit, different year.

I guess you dont read. That's some serious shit if nerves are not firing in his shoulder and arm. Maybe it wont hurt him this year which it might, but this aint a normal ehh just a regular offseason surgery it will be fine before the season starts.

Before the 08 season he missed all of TC and really struggled the first seven games or so.

But this is much bigger than that.

For some reason Im not all that worried about Peyton Manning playing. Idk what it is, but when it comes to Peyton even if he is at 65% physically fit, he will still be a very good QB in the league. He studies game film more than anything during the offseason anyways. Thats not going to change, I think he will be fine.
