The NFL could announce a three-game suspension for Bills RB Marshawn Lynch on Thursday, ESPN reported.
The league has not confirmed the ban, but Lynch said last month he expected to be suspended following a guilty plea for gun possession in early March.
Lynch met with commissioner Roger Goodell on March 17 to discuss a series of off-the-field incidents that had drawn scrutiny from the league.
Lynch told reporters the next day he knew the league wouldn't "tolerate any more screw-ups."
"It has kind of sunk in, and I felt that this was the next step to letting you guys know that there will be a change," Lynch said. "I never had the intention of getting into trouble or anything like that. But along the way my road got rocky, and now you know it's time to set my pavement straight."
Lynch was arrested on a weapons charge near Los Angeles on Feb. 11. Last June, he pled guilty to a traffic violation after acknowledging he struck a pedestrian and driving away.
"I honestly see a suspension coming, but that comes with the consequences," Lynch said on March 18. He added he expected a decision on discipline in about 10 days.
Lynch, 22, has rushed for 2,151 yards in his two seasons with the Bills. ESPN reported that he is likely to appeal the suspension.
