The Bills offense may have some added firepower through the air come Week 1 of the 2009 season...but they may be missing firepower on the ground.
Comments made by Marshawn Lynch to the press Wednesday suggest that the NFL is poised to pull the trigger and will suspend the running back soon. "I honestly see a suspension coming, but that comes with the consequences," Lynch told the Associated Press. Lynch cited his latest meeting with Roger Goodell as a "wake-up call" and says that Goodell got his message across in that the league will not tolerate anymore "screw-ups".
Lynch expressed remorse during the interview and vows to get his head back on straight...and keep it that way. "It has kind of sunk in, and I felt that this was the next step to letting you guys know that there will be a change."
Lynch was arrested in LA on February 11th after Police found a loaded 9 mm and marijuana in a parked car that the Bills' star was in. No drug charges were filed but Lynch pleaded guilty to having a concealed firearm and was sentenced to 80 hours community service and three years' probation.
Prior to this past incident, Lynch plead guilty to a traffic violation and admittedly sped off in his SUV after striking a pedestrian in downtown Buffalo last June. Lynch expects Goodell to rule on disciplinary action within the next 10 days. -AE
