New England Patriots starting guard Logan Mankins did not accompany his teammates to Buffalo on Saturday and will not play in Sunday's game against the Bills, according to Tom E. Curran of Comcast Sportsnet NE.
Mankins had missed three days of practice this week because of a hip injury. Teammates Julian Edelman and Aaron Hernandez are also out for the Patriots.
That'd be tough to play without Mankins on the line, and already without Hernandez and Edelman, the Pats offense has taken some injury hits so far, but I wouldn't consider it much of concern, because they are more than capable of handling themselves against the Bills this week, even banged up.
The Patriots have re-signed interior offensive lineman Matt Tennant, who was with the team for a few days earlier this month.
It’s an interesting transaction due to the health of left guard Logan Mankins, who didn’t practice all week because of a hip injury. Donald Thomas and Nick McDonald could also play if Mankins can’t suit up against the Bills, and Marcus Cannon has also taken some reps at guard.
I don't know much about Matt Tennant, or the others they have been rotating at guard in the absence of Mankins at practice, but they'll have a body there, and I'd say that's better than having nobody there haha.
