In a lengthy interview with 610 Sports Radio's Chris and Cowboy show Wednesday, Chiefs running Larry Johnson clearly stated the obvious...he wants out of KC.
"There's no sense delaying the inevitable," Johnson said . "I just think it's time for us to break ties. They can go on and find what they want. And I can try to go on and rebuild my career and find what I want."
Johnson claims that when he signed his 5 year deal following the 2007 season, it was under the pretense that he would have the bulk of the carries. He went on to say that he was extremely unhappy with his role in the Chiefs' offense over the past 2 seasons but didn't press the issue to be moved after seeing how hard is was for Shaun Alexander and Edgerrin James find work.
"I'd rather just play somewhere else. I don't belong on this rebuilding team ... I'm not getting any younger and this team is getting a lot younger."
When asked about his preference in a new team, Johnson stated that he'd prefer to play in Dallas or somewhere on the East coast. Johnson's mother is a well noted Cowboys' fan. -AE
