The Baltimore Ravens have traded defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to the Detroit Lions.

Ngata has spent the entirety of his nine-year career with the Ravens, and will replace Ndamukong Suh in the Lions' defensive scheme.

In 12 games, Ngata recorded 31 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and two sacks. Ngata was suspended four games for violating the league's policy for performance-enhancing substances.

It has yet to be disclosed what the Lions gave up for Ngata.

Never were going to completely replace Suh, but Ngata is probably as good as it is going to get as a replacement. Obviously lose a bit of the ability to rush the QB, but give up nothing in the run stop department which is what made our team's defense so good last year.
Not sure what the future will hold with him cause of his contract and he probably wants to get paid, but I like this for next year for sure. Very pleased.

Huge move, but I assume they're guessing that Fairley is gone, too.

Yeah most likely. Don't want to pay him with all the injury concerns.
