At first I thought this was a pretty mediocre hire, but I'm willing to give him a chance.  He's very well respected league-wide.  I'm interested in seeing how he fills out his staff.

I certainly hope I eat crow, but I think this will be a disaster.

Lions bout to lose Brian Xanders too. That would be pretty cool.

Well, they did win the Super Bowl the year before that with him as OC. The Ravens were just lacking playmakers on offense this year, they could never recover with the loss of Anquan Boldin. Ray Rice was hurt most of the season, I think all of this played a role in them struggling.

not a fan and not too optimistic about this. we're tied down with the cap and hes going to need to work with what we have.

if he can get the players respect and get them to play smarter then we should be fine. thats a big if.

Respect from players with the teams he has coached (before Lions) has not been an issue..

He said, I got to start this off, are you interested at all? Dungy told the Free Press today. And I said, No, Martin, Im not. And then we went on. We were able to talk about what we needed to talk about.

And Dungy almost certainly gave Caldwell a glowing review. Tough luck Detroit

Two unearned HC jobs? Caldwell is doing very well for himself, considering the production level.
