http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/03/lions-awarded-s-isa-abdul-quddus-on-waivers/The Lions have added some secondary depth at the beginning of the offseason.
The club has awarded former Saints safety Isa Abdul-Quddus on waivers, the NFL disclosed in its transactions on Monday.
The Saints waived Abdul-Quddus on January 7. In 11 regular-games with New Orleans in 2013, the 24-year-old Abdul-Quddus notched 13 tackles and defended one pass.
In three NFL seasons, Abdul-Quddus (6-1, 205) has appeared in 42 regular-season games, recording 74 tackles and intercepting two passes. In Detroit, he could compete to make the roster as a reserve defensive back and special-teams player.
Yall got a really really solid FS in Quddus. Really liked him with the Saints, was just a numbers game with all the safeties we have though.
