Sources has told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that Marv Levy will be stepping down as general manager of the Buffalo Bills. Levy met with 82-year old owner Ralph Wilson Jr. earlier this week and the two came to a mutual decision.
Bills spokesperson Scott Berchtold said that he was not aware of Levy's status, however a source inside the organization told the Associated Press that a decision would be made concerning Levy's future with the team following the draft in April.
Levy has an option to remain with the team as a consultant. A formal announcement is expected later this week. Levy, an NFL Hall of Famer, was talked out of retirement and put into the front office prior to the 2006 season, replacing Tom Donahoe. -AE
