How good of a chance does Boston (27-2) have of beating the Chicago Bulls' NBA record mark of 72 wins in a season? The Celtics' 27-2 mark is the best start in NBA history. The Bulls of 1995-96 started the season 23-2 before losing their third game, but then went on an 18 game winning streak, which is a streak that has already been bettered by the Celtics' 19 game streak this year. So realistically, can the Celtics break the Bulls' record? Thoughts...

PS - Hollinger's Playoff Odds on ESPN has the C's finishing 67-15.

They are not deep enough. So no. James Posey and PJ Brown did so much for them last year.

Eddie House and Tony Allen are combining to play the same role that Posey played last year. House is providing the shots, and Allen is providing the defense. As for Brown, Leon Powe has also stepped up and played a lot better.

69-73 wins.
They are beasting, all there players are playing better than last year.
They lost Posey and PJ but the play of Allen and Powe has taken there place in the rotaion.
And with them looking at Deike(not that he provides too much offense), he will help them a lot with D when he is in, even with him being old people will still 2nd guess themselves when they drive to the hoop.

I really can see them breaking it.

Plus, Rondo is playing FAR better than he did last year. He's really turned into a good NBA PG.

Good point, With Rondo playing good the C's are great.
With Rondo playing ok the C's are great.
So even with Rondo being so-so they are still a really great team.

Maybe, but I think after the Celtics Clinch a Playoff spot, Rivers, will probably rest his starters, KG one night, PP one, and Ray one night and I think maybe between those times, they can hiccup and lose a few games here and there.

The celts def. have a chance to get the record. They have a great bench with players who can step up and come up big when needed. Plus Rondo is forming into a great pg and then the big 3.
