Exonerated by the authorities for allegations that he committed assault at a bar during the 2010 football season, Titans receiver Kenny Britt now faces a lawsuit (as MDS recently pointed out) for the incident.

A copy of the complaint obtained by Ron Zeitlinger of the Jersey Journal reveals that Britt is accused of striking the plaintiff, Harold Pointer, on the head repeatedly while co-defendant Bradford Miser was on top of Pointer.

The suit also alleges that Britt and Miser had been escorted out of the nightclub at which the alleged incident occurred after a prior physical altercation, but then allowed to return. Pointer claims that, after he allegedly was beaten, security at the club removed Pointer and another man, allowing Britt and Miser to remain inside.

The fact that criminal charges weren’t filed against Britt doesn’t matter. Civil cases entail a much lower standard of proof, and Britt could be found legally responsible for the injuries despite never being prosecuted for any associated crimes.

That's just what the other guy claims.
But he shouldn't even be in the situation.
