Larry Drew Agrees To Become Bucks Head Coach

Larry Drew has agreed in principle to become the Milwaukee Bucks' next coach, general manager John Hammond announced Friday.
 
Drew, who was coach of the Atlanta Hawks the past three seasons, will receive a four-year, $10 million deal, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard. The Bucks chose Drew over Houston Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson.

This is a great hire for the Milwaukee Bucks. They've been needing a guy with a strong, stern voice in the lockerroom, and neither Skiles nor Boylan had it. The question now becomes, what does the roster look like for him? They've got a very talented team, no doubt about that. Drew knows how to motivate his teams, and he's very defensive minded. If they keep both Ellis and Jennings, offense shouldn't be a big issue. Defensively is what lost them games last year, and this move definitely helps them in that area.

They really took him over Kelvin? Damn. Sampson just continues to get overlooked. Oh well, I hope this means he takes over when McHale leaves after another year or two.
